Black Friday

We got up early(not too early), to do some bargain hunting. We went to Wal-Mart, we were afraid to see the crowd there, but it wasn't too bad. We found a pretty good parking spot. There weren't too mnay people in the store. We got what we needed and wanted there and left. We didn't go for any of the doorbuster bargains. We made a few other stops too and then came home to chill out. We had a pretty good day.

Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a nice one, Bryan was home this year, which made it even better.Bryan did all the cooking, he likes to make Thanksgiving Day dinner, which is fine with me. We had a turkey, spuds, gravy, dinner rolls, corn and pumpkin pies. Brett tried a drumstick, he ate a few bites and that was it. It was his first time trying the drumstick. After dinner, he played outside wiht friends, it was unusually warm for this time of year. It got up to 46 that day!!! I don't think we will have too many days like that any more. All in all it was a great day!

Deal Or No Deal

Brady got the Deal Or No Deal game for his birthday, this past August. He loves playing it, of course he does it his way. He is learning his bigger numbers from matching the case amounts to the dollar amounts on the board. He is counting the zero's and mathcing them up really good. He still likes to watch it on TV too. He likes to pick case 4, he calls it 41 just like Miss Natalie's Bus number back at Grand Forks AFB.

Snow

This is a picture of our front walkway looking toward the street. It was taken after our first snowfall in October. Yes, we got snow in early October! We have about 12 inches of snow so far.We have been lucky though, it hasn't been as cold as everyone says it usually is by now. We have been averaging in the lower digits to the mid teens. We are having a heat wave now, with highs in the 20's!!!

Xmas Tree

The boys are sitting in front of a small Xmas tree that I bought last year at Menard's. I did have room to take a picture of them sitting in front of the Big Richmond Family Tree. We have the trees in our dining room. We actually don't have room in our living room for the big tree and we were too lazy to move the 3 footer out of the dining room. It is strange not having a tree in the living room.The boys helped decorate it with all our favorite ornaments from Hallmark!!!

Day at the Museum

We took the boys to the Museum of the North, ant the Univeristy of Alaska Fairbanks. They had Military Appreciation Day, so we got in free. We kind of made it an outing with Cub Scouts too for Brett. we got see to some neat stuff. The boys are by a big grizzly bear. they had Polar Bears, walruses, bison, buffalo and some wolves. We had a good time, and Brett got credit for visiting a museum for Cub Scouts

Brett

Brett is 7, he is doing well in school from what I mentioned in a previous post. He is getting brave in his old age. He is trying more foods. He tried steak the other night and doesn't really like it, but at least he tried it. We have been getting him to eat beef products all his life. He recently tried garlic bread and likes that. Slowly but surely he is getting a bigger food selection.

Brady

Here is a picture of Brady, we like to call him Jim Dandy in that picture. Dont' know why, but he looks like a Jim Dandy.

Brady is 4, he still likes garbage trucks, stuffed animals, and school buses.

He is looking forward to Xmas, wants everything.

He is leanring alot, he know his ABC's knows what certain words start with,and is learning to print his name. He knows his phone number, address, colors, shpaes, letters, and is working on drawing shapes.

Goofy Boys

Here is a picture of the boys being goofy. Brett got those sun glasses from a friend for his birthday. They can be so cute one minute and then be such turds the next.

Time To Catch Up

It's been awhile since I blogged. Have been pretty busy. The boys had fun at Halloween. They were Clonetroopers. We went to the party at Bryan's Squadron. We all had fun. The boys had fun decorating cupcakes, and Brady got his picture in the base paper. He entered a donut eating contest. He had fun doing that.
After that we went right over to the JMC, they were having a craft bazaar. Brett had to go work for the Cub Scout canned food drive, he had fun doing that. After that we went down town to eat and do a little Xmas shopping.
Trick or Treat was fun. We had a TON of people here. We ran out of candy half way through. It was nice outside. Not cold or windy, it was a beautiful night in AK.
We had Brett's parent teacher conference. He is doing good in school. He excels in math, reading, language and spelling. He got placed in an advanced reading class. He is reading 26 words a minute, the average for a 1st grader is 10. Now, all he needs to do is, keep his mouth quiet, he tends to chat alot in class.
We are getting ready for Thanksgiving, Bryan will be making the meal again this year. He likes to make Thanksgiving Day dinner. No big plans. We are going to hit the sales on Friday, not too early though. Hope we find some good buys though.
We have Xmas up all ready it seemed so fitting with all the snow we have and the fact that Sants lives down the highway from us. We are all ready for Santa.
The boys are looking forward to Xmas too. They want everything they see on tv, go figure. Brady wants a Rescue Puppy that pees, among other things. Brett wants Star Wars anything, among other things.
Bryan got approved for his laser eye surgery. He plans on going after the first of the year. I give him credit for that. I couldn't go through with it. It would freak me out seeing the laser come right for my eye and smelling it burn, no thank you. He shoudl be gone about 10 days.
I think I have caught up now for all our goings on here.
