WWE hits Alaska

Brett has really gotten into wrestling lately. Guess he takes after his Mom. My sister and I would go to wrestling matches back in WI., before I got married. We had a good time at the matches. For some reason Brett has really taken to it, guess it all started at Xmas time, when Santa brought Bryan a Ladder Match DVD. Brett gotta such a kick out of watching it, when Bryan went to San Antonio, he brought him back a new wrestling DVD. Brett also has a bunch of action figures too. He got to buy the elimination Chamber that is shown in the picture at Wal-Mart. He earned some Scout bucks from the annual popcorn sale.

I also bought some WWE Road to the Royal Rumble. Wrestling will be coming back to the Fairbanks area for the first time in 5 years. Brett is so thrilled about going, it will be fun to be with 3 people who have never seen live wrestling before. We got some pretty good seats, we are up in the mezzanine area, but according to the seating chart, we should be in the front row. I am happy about that, then Brett and Brady don't have to look over a tall person to see the action. There will be some of Brett favs there, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, Mr. Kennedy and Ric Flair to name a few. I am on the hunt for poster board so that Brett can make a poster for Jeff Hardy. He truly does take after me, and I am proud of it!

We are Back in Business!

Well we finally got our microwaves switched out and we found one that works! It was so nice to be able to use the microwave again. I made popcorn and boy was that good. Brady got his pancakes that he has been waiting for, for almost a month. Brett got to have his Easy Mac too, that he wanted for awhile too. Bryan was very happy to finally have the microwave back and working. We sure missed it, hope this one lasts as long as the first one, 15 years is a long time!

Brady Flying

Ever since we came out here on Alaska Airlines. Brady has had a thing for anything to do with Alaska Airs. Santa brought him a MD-80 model and Brett got a 737 model. Brett's is the one that we flew out on. Brady has had countless Alaska Airlines toys. Bryan bought him an Alaska Airlines play set for him on his way from San Antonio. Brady had fun waiting at the airport for Bryan too, it was his chance to see all kinds of planes.

Packer Party

Here is picture of a Packer Party that we had while Bryan was in San Antonio. The boys get a kick out of having parties. I used my football bowls from Schwan's. That is the one time that they get to eat alot of junk. Normally they don't eat that much junk food, it was kind of a special, fun occasion. We had a good time and the Packer's went on to beat Seattle that day! Too bad they couldn't have carried themsleves through to winning the whole ball of wax.

Pinewood Derby Winner

We have a champion in our midst. Brett came in third place in the Tiger's Den for the Pinewood Derby. He was excited to say the least. He got a cute trophy and a blue ribbon. He had a good time. We are going to hold onto the car for next year in case Bryan is deployed, that way I won't have to make one for him. I am not that talented, seeing that you have to do woodworking, sanding and sawing. I would probably saw something valuable off my person. Brett put his trophy in his bedroom, on his shelf next to his bed. I am happy that he came in third, I was expecting him to not win at all, what a pleasant surprise!

Brett the Scout

Here is a picture of Brett in his scouting uniform. He has whiskers drawn on his face because he got his Tiger Cub Badge. He got his Bobcat Badge before Christmas. He likes Scouts alot, it is somehting for him and Bryan to do together. I take Brady along on the Pack Meetings. That is when Brett usually gets his awards and decorations. This weekend is the big Pinewood Derby. Bryan helped Brett with his race car. They should have a fun time. Hope Brett wins, but there are a lot of boys in scouts, so you never know. He is due to go to a hockey game and have a sleep over with the Pack. They sold a bunch of popcorn for their fundraiser and those are a few of things they wanted to do if they met or beat last years total sales.

Frustrating

I know i am strange for posting a picture of our old microwave, but oh well. We had it for 15 years. It was the best microwave ever! Well the last month it hasn't been working as good as it did. We decided it was time to go buy a new one. We are limited here on places to go shop, so we went to Sears. We wanted another Whirlpool, but they didn't have one. We took the next best thing and got a Kenmore. We had to order it of course, they didn't have them in stock, just our luck. It finally came in 3 weeks later. We were all excited to have a microwave again. One doesn't really know how much one will miss something, until you no longer have it.So we got it hooked up and didn't try it out right away. Brady was excited that he could have microwave pancakes for lunch the next day. I went to make his pancakes and when they were done, lo and behold , they were still frozen!!! I tried every which way I could think of to cook those darn things and nothing. needless to say I was frustrated, Brady sad, so I did what anyone would do, I read the instructions. Did everything right for a change, I mean really how hard is it to use a microwave. So I thought I would try making popcorn, seeing they have the preset button for making popcorn, nothing. It took me about 25 minutes to try to cook popcorn and pancakes. We called Sears back, they have 2 more and have one set aside for us to pick up tomorrow. I just hope the new one works, otherwise we have to face facts, we just aren't smart enough to operate the darn thing.

Brady's Mess

The other night Brady wanted to watch TV in our bedroom, he didn't want to watch what Brett was watching down in the living room. We told him it was ok, but had to behave, HA! Bryan and I went in the basement to work a puzzle seeing that the boys were quiet. We figured Brady was watching TV nice, little did we know what surprise we had awaiting us up there. I have been using a ton of lotion lately because it's been so cold and dry here. Brady likes to use my lotion too when I put it on, he usually asks to have some, which I give him. Well it was bed time for the Richmond Family, and Bryan said," What is all over our mirror." I was like great, couldn't figure out what it would be, as I wasn't up there yet. I took a look at the mirror and thought , what the heck is that. I walked into the bathroom and noticed my lotion bottle empty, thankfully it was nearly empty. Here my little darling opened the lotion trying to squirt some out, he had a hard time it got all over the bed frame, the wall, the dresser, and the rug. He must have gotten too much on his hands and for some reason smeared it on the mirror, unless it squirted on there too. He did try to clean the mirror though, I noticed a ton of butt wipes in our trash can. I give him credit for that. I couldn't get too mad at him, because as I was cleaning the wall up, I had flashbacks to when I was about his age. I in my wild youth, got a hold of some lipstick and drew on the walls with that, and another time I took some perfume and sprayed it on my sister's bedroom walls. I am not talking about smalls sprays, they were huge puddles, with drip marks coming down from the sprays. I can still to this day picture the walls. Needless to say, the room smelt horrible and I got yelled at big time for each of my misdeeds. So while I cleaned that up, I kept thinking that my little sweetheart sure does take after his Mamma!

My Disappointment

Well what can I say about our Green Bay Packers? They made some great achievements this year. They did better than any one could have predicted. I was happy for them to win the NFC North Division Title, that was so cool. I was also happy that Brett Favre borke a lot of records too this year. However, it was a big disappointment for this Packer fan to watch them play at home and loose. The play calling stunk, the weather, crappy(cold). I was pumped at the beginning of the game to slowly loose the wind in my sails as the game went on. I had some glimmers of hope throughout the game, as NY missed a few field goals. I yelled so loud I hurt my throat. It was still fun to watch I guess. Although I am thankful they made it as far as they did this year. No matter what type of season the Pack have, I will always be a Packer fan!
GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mini update

Wow, can't believe half of January is over! The time has gone by way too fast. Bryan went to San Antonio for his eye surgery. He left on the 5th of Januray. All turned out well with his surgery, he is seeing 20/25, it's a big improvement over what he saw without glasses. He came home on the 15th. The boys and I ventured out into the city to pick him up at the airport. It was my first time driving in the city. I had never drove to the airport before, but after one minor flubb, we got there in plenty of time to meet the plane. The boys were very excited to see Dad after 10 days. Brett screamed as usual and gave him a hug and Brady was bashful. We almost missed each other though, we were on one end of the airport expecting Bryan to come down the one set of steps, but he came down a different set. Good thing I sent Brett to look around the bend, and that's when he saw Bryan.

Today we woke up to find about 4 inches of snow on the ground. We had a heavy snow warning issued some time after we went to bed. The heaviest of the snow fell in Fairbanks. They got up to 8 inches by 4:00 a.m.. They were calling for 8-10 inches. So glad we got the least amount. I am truly getting tired of snow.

Last But Not Least: Happy New Year!!!!

What can I say about my boys!!! They are unique to say the least. One would think they had been drinking in this picture while celebrating the New Year to come. I can honestly say they didn't have anything but milk and water to drink. Once in a while they tend to ham it up for the camera. They are truly special little people, who take after their father. He would say they take after me, so it's up to you to decide who they take after. Happy 2008!!!! Hope it's a great year for all and a healthy, and happy one too.

The Other Frozen Peanut

Here is one of Brett playing in the snow. He was playing wiht friends but one started getting frostbite on the face and went in. Brett has no sense when it comes to coming in the house, he would live out in the snow if he could. He will stay out there and be freezing and not care. When you ask him to help shovel he says it is too cold outside!

Frozen Little Peanut

The boys were finally able to play out in the snow, the temps were in the single digits and rather pleasant. We let the boys go out and play, they had fun. Brady started to get cold and had the sense to come in the house. Before I let him in I got a picture of him all covered in snow. He headed off for a bath shortly after to warm up.

Snowy View

Here is pretty view of the woods through our back yard. The trees look so beautiful with the freshly fallen snow.

Brett Posing

Here is a solo of Brett posing by the tree. He seems to be like a modle with some of the poses he does lately. He is changing all the time with his likes and dislikes. Can't believe he will be 8 in Sept. The time has flew by so fast.
