Wish Bone

We had a great Thanksgiving. Bryan made a turkey and all the fixings that go along with it, dinner was great! Brett looks forward to finding the wishbone and making a wish, this year was no exception. He couldnt' wait for Friday to roll around when the wish bone would be dry enough for him to pull it apart. Normally Bryan and Brett do the traditional breakage, but this year we let Brady take Bryan's spot. Each one grab a side and let it rip, only to have some pieces break off and each having an equal portion fo the bone. They both got to make a wish and all is good until next year.

Nativity

I finally found the other half of the Jeff Fleming Bearfoot Bears Nativity. I had the one set with the animlas and wise men, and needed to find the Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus one, I finally got lucky last weekend and found it at the Santa Claus House in North Pole. I was so happy to finally get it, and couldn't wait to put it all together.

New Dishes

These are the new dishes that I ordered from Kohl's. I am addicted to that web site! I was surprised when I opened the box and took out the dinner plates, they are HUGE!!! I had to redo my kitchen cabinets so that I could fit the plates in with the door closed. I ordered another set but they got damaged in transit, so I am waiting for Kohl's to switch them out or credit my account. The dishes go with my placemats that I ordered from there too. I love shopping online at Kohl's during the Holidays!

The Richmond Family Christmas Tree

We put up our tree this past weekend, seeing that the Packers weren't playing. Not that it mattered much, seeing that they lost. Any way, last year we had it in the dinning room and weren't thrilled with it in there. We moved a few things out from the corner and put the tree there. It looks so nice there, and it's nice ot have the tree in a room we spend a lot of time in. I decorated it with all glass balls this year. It turned out really nice. I always wanted a tree with all balls on, so I got my wish this year.

Friday Night

We had a sitter come over Friday night so we could go out and do a little bit of Xmas Shopping for the boys. The boys were up later the night before, they went with Bryan to his football game and didn't get home until after 9:00, and to be by 10:00.Needless to say they didn't want to get up for school but they only had a half day any way, so all was well. They tried to stay awake until we got hime that night, but didn't quite make it, they fell asleep just before we got hime. Brady was racked out on the rocking chair with his finger over his lip, like he was trying to tell eveyrone to be quiet. Brett was passed out on the floor in front of the couch.

Brett's Tree

Here is Brett's tree all done up in Star Wars. He worked very hard on his tree and did a better job than I thought he would. He has a habit of putting the ronamnets on top of each other but hd did a super job of spreading them out. We need ot add more, but won't go through the other box of ornaments until it is time to put the big tree up!

Brady's Tree

This year we decided to get each boy their own tree for their rooms. I collect the Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments and the boys get in on the collecting too. Brady likes farm equiptment, trucks, planes and SpongeBob. Brett likes to collect Star Wars. i was tired of having them on the tree down here all the time and thought they would like their own trees, which they did, The decorated their tress very nice. They did a great job on spreading them out on the tree. I put a picture of Brayd's tree on, the ones I took of Brett's tree turned out blurry, so I will post one of his later. The boys take after Bryan and I will their love of Christmas.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like.......

Christmas around the Richmond Household. We decided one afternoon to put up the smaller Christmas Trees. I have a lot of ornaments from Hallmark and needed somewhere to go with them. One year while Bryan was deployed, I bought a 3 foot tree from Menard's. I wanted the boys to have a tree that year,( Bryan wasn't due back until January). It is such a nice tree, shaped so nice and full. We put it in the dining room, with all Peanuts and Pooh ornamnets on it this year. I also bought two table top trees the year Bryan was gone. I put one in the dining room and one in the living room. I did one in a Snowman theme and one in a rustic, Alaska type. They all turned out nice. We will put the big tree up around Thanksgiving. Can't believe it is almost time

for Christmas, the year has gone by so fast!

Brett and Star Wars

Brett got money for Trick or Treat and bought a Star Wars A-Wing vehicle. He wanted the Millenium Falcon but I didn't feel like spotting him 136.00+ for his first choice. I said maybe if he was a really, really good boy maybe, just maybe Santa would bring it for him. He was satiisfied with what he got though.

Brady and Buster

Brady got some money for trick or treat and decided to buy a puppy. He has a thing for stuffed dogs. He named this one Buster.

Brady Reading and Watching....

While the cookies are baking. He was waiting patiently for the cookies to get, so he got a book and was looking for his site words. He has learned, The, My, And, I and Go. He likes to look at books and show us what he has learned in school.

Trick or Treating

Well another year of trick or treating saw the boys dressed up as Star Wars characters again. Brett was a Clone Tropper, and Brady was Darth Vader. They both looked so cute in their costumes. Brady wasn't sure if he wanted to wear his or not, but finally made a decision and wore it. It was chilly outside, I think the tep was around 3 when we went. Again, there were a bunch of kids going door to door. There were alot of teenagers. We walked around our cul-de-sac and the kids got a pumpkin full of candy. Brady couldn't fit any more in his, so Brett was like lets go home and dump out his pumpkin and go back. I told him if we did that we were staying home, I agreed to go to a few more houses and finally after about 45 minutes, we came home. We had a fun time walking the neighborhood, I always like to do that despite the cold temps. We got home and still had a butt load of candy left. We stocked up on it this year because last year we ran out after 45 minutes. This time we have so much left it will be greeting in 2009 with us!

Pre-Trick or Treating Nap

Brady decided that he was tired and needed a nap before going on trick or treating. I was upatairs doing a few things and when I cam down this is how I found him, sound asleep on the couch. He falls asleep in some goofy ways!

Hockey Game

Apparently we are having a hockey game in my basement tonight at 7:30, acording to the sign that Brett made. We took the obys to a hockey game about 2 weeks ago and Brett had a blast. Brady not so muc. Any way agaisnt my better judgement we bought the boys hockey sticks,I know what everyone is thinking, are they nuts? Brett has taken to playing hockey in the basement with small leggo pieces as a puck. We had the last 2 days of October off for parent teacher confrences, so while waiting to to their confrences, Brett decided to write a sign announcing his game. The Nanooks are the college players and the Ic Dogs are the semi pro team here. I was impressed that he spelled the Nanooks right.
