Brett vs Brady

The boys killed time before Scout's one night wrestling. I don't know who had more fun, them or us watching. I laughed so hard trying to get pictures. Brady was yelling that he is going to Irish Whip Brett, and Brett was yelling I am going to put the Figure Four Leg Lock on you, and Bradys was like whatever, just don't do the Walls of Jehrico on me, it hurts. It was like having a real live match in the kitchen.It was so funny to watch, is sounds so mean to say that, but they were having a fun time with it. Brady ended up being the winner, he pinned Brett for the 1,2,3!

Us

Bryan didn't make it for promotion to senior, hopefully next go around. He has been busy taking classes for his Bachelor's Degree. He is finally in his last class and will be done in early May!! He will be going to Missouri soon, for 2 weeks for a class. Then in late summer he will be going for 3 weeks of training and then on to a 6mth rotation in the dessert.
I am still at school working 3 hours. I will be doing a RAV training class in 2 weeks. I will be checking on the spouses of the unit's deployed members. If they need anyhting I get them the help they need or in touch with the people that can help. I am waiting for school to be out, I am so ready for summer. We got a good dumping of snow on us last week and I can safely say that I hate winter and can't wait to leave here. I hope we get a warm weather base the next go around.

Brett

Brett is doing good in school too. He got a 100 on his math testing that we did before Christmas. I told him how proud we were of him, and that he will have to do just as good if not better on the next set of testing. He really likes math and science. Don't know where the interest in science comes from, certainly not from me.He is still in Scouts, he has his Pine Wood Derby next weekend. Hope his car does as good as last year if not better. He came in third last year. He is going to be in third grade next year, he wanted to be part of the multi-age class again, so he could have the same teacher, Mrs. Bell. She was happy to have him again, she really is the only teacher to ever really understand him and his need to get up and move around, she is the same way. He really like to play video games, he is good at them all. Brett and I played Dance Revolution today and he has some good moves, must have got those from me! I want to sign him up for dacne class, but he refuses to go, I think he would be good at it though, but will not push him.

Brady

I haven't done a post of each of indvidually so, I thought now would be a good a time as any. Brady is doing grat in school. He can count by 1's,2's,5's and 10's past 100. He is in a reading class where he has to read stories and get timed on his reading for 1 minute. He can read upwards of 60 words correct a minute. When school started I never imagined him to be this good in reading. He is reding me bed time stories instead of me reading to him. We can't spell in front of him any more, he knows what we are spelling.He is growing up so fast. He is already for first grade, he can't wait. He told me the other day he is going to be a first grader when he is 6. He is a very smart little boy.

Ice Park

It is that time once again in Fairbanks for the World Ice Championships. We went a little later this year so we could see the multi block sculptures. They didn't have as many slides as they did for the kids last year, but the boys had fun going down what they had. The sculptures were so cool, it makes me wonder how they get their vision for block of ice. There was one really cool one of Jesus on the cross, it was just awesome. I believe it is the first picture that I posted. We look forward to going next year.

Playing

The boys are playing outside with their friend Mark. They have only a couple of months left to play with him. Mark is moving after school is done this May. I dont' know who Brett will have to play with once he is gone. They both like the same things. They are the perfect boys to be friends, they are alike in so many ways. I hope they keep in touch because Brett will really enjoy hearing from him. Brady decided to dig in the yard, I think he is digging for gold or somehting, good luck with that job. Brett was sledding down the hill in Mark's front yard and now they have come over here to play Stars Wars, some scene from one of the movies, I think we are going to have an actor on our hands here in the future.

Addiction

Brett is so addicted to his DS it is not funny. He is playing while it is recharging. He plays all the time. I don't know how he manages to get through the school day with out playing it. He gets mad when he has to stop plyaing and recharge. Both boys snuck in my room this morning at 5:30a.m..(YES that is correct 5:30 a.m.) to play their DS's. I am amazed that they are playing outside right now and not concerned about their video game addiction.

Blowing Snow

We got a major snowstorm Wednesday night into Thursday night. It dumped a foot of snow on us. It is the most snowfall in one storm over the last 30 years. The storm sort of hung over our area for 24 hours. Then to top it off it turned windy and we got the blowing and drifting that comes along with that. Bryan was happy he got to use the snowblower, it hasn't been used much since we got up here. Normally the snow is light and fluffy and a couple of inches.You can kind of see in the piciture the snow blowing off the garage roof.No doubt I am tired of winter, can't wait for all this white to go away and be a distant memory.

Roses

Bryan surprised me the other night and brought home 2 roses. It was very thoughtful of him to do that, it has been a long time since he surprised me with flowers. The boys were excited and each one had to take pictures of the flowers.

Cemetery of the Pacific

Bryan came home from Hawaii yesterday. One of the things he saw was the Cemetery of the Pacific. Intombed there are people who fought and lost their lives in the Pacific Theater, druing WWII. They also have cement walls with the names of other service members who lost their lives in the Pacific Conflict. One of the names was my Uncle Kenneth.He is my Mom's older brother. He joined the Navy after being declared an F4. He had a hernia and had that fixed so he could be with his friends. He served on a Minesweeper, The USS Emmons. He was a Machinest Mate 3C. He was Killed In Action, when a Japanese Suicide Plane flew into the vessel. All crew members were lost at sea. That was 64 years ago. My Mom was so excited that Bryan got to be the first family member to go see his name on this cement wall. I hope that we can all go as a family while we are still here in AK, to go see this. It would be a nice feeling as his niece to be able to see his name and give him the honor he so deserves for giving his life for our great country. I would love for the boys to go see all the history that is there and to know that their Pa and Uncles were in the same places fighting for our country. Brett is very into all the World Wars. He loves learning about it and what better place for him to go and see than Pearl Harbor.

Lego Vessel

Brett has always had a good imagination. He built a vessel out of some lego's. He got the idea from Bryan going to see the Missouri and Arizona while he was in Hawaii. This is Brett's tribute to those ships. I thought he did a pretty good job on it.Unfortunately, he broke it shortly after I took the picture. He was playing dominoes with brady and knocked it off the dining room table.

Brady and his DS

The boys have taken to playing their DS's with headphones on. They think I don't know what they are doing by wearing them. I try to limit their playing time, so they have come up with an idea to get one over on me. This morning, Brett got up to use the bathroom at 5:30 and snuck into my room and tried to be quiet while getting his DS.They know they can't annoy me beofore 6:30 on the weekends(my only 2 days to sleep in),so he stealthed around the closet and got his DS and went off to his room to play in bed. Then while I was in the shower I could hear Brady stomping aropund my room to get his out the closet. I keep them in their so they can't get up and play them whenever.

Happy Birthday to Me

My birthday was Wednesday, and the boys helped me make my cake. it was white with white frosting. Brett doesn't like chocolate, so I thought I would be nice and make what everyone would eat. We didn't do much for my special day, the boys did their best to make it nice for me, which they did. I bought myself some Bearfoot Bears for my gift to my self. I am still waitiing to see what Bryan will get me. I gave him some hints, we will see what he comes up with.

Super Bowl Spread

Here is a picture of our Super Bowl spread. We didn't have much, the boys don't like the same things to eat, so we thought we would go sim,ple, seeing that Bryan wasn't around. We decided on sandwiches and snacks. We had, ham, turkey and peanut butter, for sandwich choises. For snacks we had Chips, Dorito's, Cheeto's Puffs,and Chili Cheese Corn Chips. Then for dessert we had a cake from the commissary, it was suppose to have bettercreme frosting but it was whipped. Brady was the only one who really enjoyed it. You can see by his lips he had a section of the Steeler's colors. His teeth, lips and tongue were all black. He spent a few minutes getting his teeth brushed to get all sparkly again.

Are You Ready For Some Football???!!!

We are ready for some football. That is all the boys talked about since they got up this morning. Today is the Super Bowl, when is the party, and Brady's line, when do we eat the cake?!I opened up the snacks after they had their showers and bath. Normally they get those after dinner but with the big game, I had them do it a little earlier.Notice in the one picture of the boys getting their snacks, Brett has his DS, he is hooked on that and watch out when it goes red, he is super annoying, because he is bored.Any way on with the game, go Cardinals!!
